Atomic Arcade is a brand-new video game development studio located in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area led by industry veterans from AAA game and film studios. We are in the process of staffing up our development team with outstanding talent to build our first multi-platform, AAA game - a bold and contemporary new take on the GI JOE Universe starring the legendary character Snake Eyes! This is an excellent opportunity to not only build an outstanding AAA experience but to also help form the core foundations for the studio and team to build upon. We are looking for a skilled, imaginative, and experienced Dialogue Lead to join our team at Atomic Arcade. As Dialogue Lead, reporting to the Audio Director, you will be instrumental in shaping immersive and captivating narrative and gameplay experiences by coordinating every facet of dialogue creation, implementation, and quality assurance.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Provide strategic direction and vision for dialogue content, ensuring alignment with the game's narrative goals, tone, and gameplay elements.
  • Build and maintain the dialogue pipelines, optimizing workflows the process to help streamline production.
  • Collaborate closely with creative and narrative leads to establish the overall direction for character development and storytelling through dialogue.
  • Build interactive dialogue solutions for various gameplay feedback systems such as enemy callouts, conversation interrupts/resumes and player breathing.
  • Lead the implementation of dialogue using Unreal and Wwise by work closely with designers and programmers to ensure seamless functionality and synchronization with gameplay events.
  • Coordinate and supervise collaboration with external partners for various components of the dialogue process including editorial and implementation.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of dialogue content to identify and address issues related to consistency, grammar, tone, and localization.
  • Plan and prep for voiceover recording sessions. Working with voiceover directors and voice actors provide high level direction and feedback to ensure authentic and compelling performances that bring characters to life.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum 8 years experience in audio on narrative focused projects.
  • Minimum of 2 shipped AAA titles in a dialogue role.
  • Strong understanding of the complete dialogue process for narrative video games
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills and capabilities.
  • Expert use with professional audio tools: Pro Tools, Reaper, iZotope RX, etc.
  • Understanding of microphones and recording signal flow for recording dialogue, with a focus on Voice Over, ADR and Motion Capture Dialogue
  • Expert command of signal processing tools such as equalizers, compressors, limiters, etc.
  • Experience and understanding of dialogue editorial and mixing for pre-rendered linear cinematics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating game dialogue using proprietary software tools or industry-standard platforms such as Unreal Engine, Wwise, FMOD, and others.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding or proficiency in scripting languages like LUA, Python, or similar coding languages.
  • Pertinent accredited education in audio engineering, sound design, television production, broadcasting, game design, or related fields.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $141,040.00
  • Pay Range End: $235,080.00
