Skeleton Key is a game development studio and division of Wizards of the Coast. We are a group of people who are guided by the belief that by empowering our teams and providing the necessary time, tools, and support we can foster a creative culture where everyone can do their best work.
Skeleton Key is headquartered in Austin, TX, and we're building out a new, growing team in Montreal, QC and is looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Producer.
Reporting to the Studio GM, the Senior Producer will oversee production for one or more development teams, managing schedules, dependencies, capacity, and blockers to keep deliverables moving. You’ll coordinate cross-disciplinary development, improve team workflows, and serve as the on-site point of contact for our Montreal SK team, partnering with HR, IT, and studio administration on onboarding, hiring logistics, licenses, and day-to-day operations.
What you'll do:
- Own and maintain production schedules for one or multiple teams consisting of features, assets, and other content deliverables.
- Track content through development pipelines involving multiple teams to ensure proper dependency handoffs, updates, and delivery.
- Be the "go-to" person for your team to help them connect with others, remove their development blockers, and guide them on how to approach problems.
- Serve as an on-site point of contact for the Montreal SK studio space, helping with day-to-day operational needs in partnership with HR, IT, and studio administration.
- Lead and moderate team meetings with clear agendas, focused discussions, and actionable, reliable meeting notes.
- Be the first line of defense and representative for your teams in regard to their capacity, velocity, and current priorities.
- Build trust and positive relationships across all teams.
- Communicate effectively across multiple teams and seniority levels.
- Resolve problems, prioritize, and find creative solutions to achieve results.
- Track team performance metrics to communicate overall team velocity, project health, and progress towards project goals.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years of proven experience in multi-disciplinary game development for AAA games.
- Shipped at least one AAA title.
- Comprehensive experience with all phases of game development from concept to launch.
- Knowledge of various development methodologies and their applications (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall) and the adaptability to apply them to specific team needs.
- Experience managing team planning, schedules, and roadmaps.
- Strong experience with project planning, presentation, and documentation tools, including Jira.
- Experience with studio site operations or office management, including coordinating with HR, IT, and administrative partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills; operates with empathy and understanding.
- Self-sufficient and self-motivated, with a deep passion to help teams succeed and create amazing gaming experiences and content.
Nice to have:
- Hands-on production experience embedded with a gameplay or combat team, coordinating across the disciplines that feed it, including Animation, Engineering, Gameplay Design, VFX, and Audio.
- Direct experience shipping character action, combat, or systems-driven gameplay in a AAA production.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine development workflows and the dependencies between gameplay design, engineering, and animation.
- Experience coordinating with external vendors and co-development partners.
- Experience defining and rolling out production process improvements from a mix of production metrics and developer feedback.
- Experience working on RPGs or story-focused games.
