Archetype Entertainment is a new game studio in Austin, Texas led by industry veterans from BioWare and other AAA studios. Archetype is a division of Wizards of the Coast (Hasbro). We are building a development team with world-class talent to create a new science fiction universe for our first multiplatform roleplaying video game.

We are seeking a Senior Rendering Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop, optimize, tune, and extend core technology for our flagship product. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of low level systems including rendering technology for AAA games who wants to work collaboratively with Artists and other Engineers to build a truly next-gen experience. This role reports to the Lead Foundations Engineer.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, debug, and optimize game features, particularly graphics-related
  • Provide guidance to the art department on how best to achieve their goals in the most efficient and effective manner
  • Develop art budgets and target metrics with the Lead Foundations Engineer to ensure our game is always running great
  • Profile the game and help diagnose and fix rendering-related performance problems
  • Mentor other engineers

 

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years' experience developing one or more AAA titles
  • Experience working in Unreal Engine 5, particularly Lumen and Nanite
  • A solid understanding of rendering fundamentals
  • Initiative to push boundaries and a strong desire to build something outstanding
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

The base salary range for this position is $149,680.00 to $224,520.00. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
