For our Licensed Consumer Products Team, we are looking for a Licensing Manager EMEA Agent Markets (m / f / d) for a full-time role, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
This is a hybrid role, with in in-office requirement: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
As Licensing Manager for EMEA Agent Markets, you will support the development and execution of a commercial growth plan for Licensed Consumer Products business with Hasbro’s appointed local licensing agents in Hasbro’s EMEA Agent markets, driving accelerated growth and delivery of agreed financial targets as well as local, regional, and hub OneVoice projects and brand objectives. The focus of this role will be to establish a common strategy to grow our smaller EMEA export markets in a consistent, structured, and efficient way, aligning with all lines of business. The Licensing Manager will report directly to the Senior Licensing Director, EMEA Agent Markets (based in Amsterdam as well).
Your tasks:
- Build and maintain trustful and profitable long-term partnerships with each local licensing agent, continuously challenging them to deliver against agreed local business growth plans.
- Position Hasbro as a priority licensor of choice in each local licensing agent’s total multi-licensor portfolio.
- Represent Hasbro as a licensor of choice to key local licensees and retail partners, participating in strategic meetings and positioning the local licensing agent as a strong point of contact and in-market executor.
- Ensure the local licensing agent identifies and converts new category partners and business opportunities across Hasbro’s attractive brand portfolio, including properties such as Peppa Pig, My Little Pony, Transformers, Nerf, or Play-Doh, amongst others.
- Keep on top of licensing agents to manage licensees for assigned categories, including deal negotiation, relationship building, marketing and distribution strategies, and product portfolio development.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to move local deals to full execution.
- Regular monitoring and analysis of market and media data and insights – directly and through the local licensing agent.
- Contribute to "go-to-market" strategies by using market/category knowledge and account plans to maximize short and long-term growth – directly and through the local licensing agent. Tailor strategy by market without a one-size-fits-all mindset.
- Represent global and regional partners locally to improve distribution opportunities and cross-category retail executions.
- Creation and localization of best-in-class pitch decks and presentations – directly and through the local licensing agent.
- Ensure regular communication and presentation of plans to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and work against financial targets and budgets, holding the local licensing agent accountable for delivering against those agreed financials.
- Contribute to annual budget planning and quarterly forecasting process; support reporting and cash collection process for assigned categories and partners.
- Contribute to developing ongoing improvements to ways of working that can benefit all EMEA licensing agents.
- Support trade show and summit preparation; keep current with industry trends and developments through networking, attending trade shows, and industry functions.
Your skills:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive experience in brand licensing, product or brand marketing, sales, or retail environment.
- Experience working with or within licensing agencies is highly valued.
- A deep knowledge of managing external teams is a plus.
- A strong understanding of international markets and nuances in EMEA is a must, as well as adaptability to various cultures.
- Action-oriented, self-motivated, and organized sales professional with demonstrable business acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
- Superb presentation, storytelling, and networking skills.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Pragmatism: Ability to adjust priorities and operate in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
- Team player with hands-on mentality, strong integrity, and business ethics.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and passion for brands and affinity for core target groups (children, family, fans).
- Ability to challenge and bring new ideas and thinking to the business.
- Clear, persuasive, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
- PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Teams skills are mandatory.
