Archetype Entertainment is a new game studio in Austin, Texas led by industry veterans from BioWare and other AAA studios. Archetype is a division of Wizards of the Coast (Hasbro). We are building a development team with world-class talent to create a new science fiction universe for our first multiplatform roleplaying video game.

About the Internship Program:

Our program runs between June 9- August 22, 2025.

We are seeking an experienced Intern - Gameplay Engineer (Cinematic) to join our growing team. In this role, you will learn about and assist with the development of our central cinematic technologies. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and conscientious engineer with deep curiosity of developing games in a AAA environment.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with cinematic designers and other cinematic specialists to ensure seamless integration of assets and assembly of cinematics into the game

  • Implement, improve, and maintain core cinematic systems cinematics using the Unreal Engine

  • Learn about the AAA development cycle and how narrative + cinematics fit, from writing to final assembly

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited, degree-seeking program majoring in computer science, engineering or related degree with at least one quarter or semester left after August 2025.

  • Available to work full-time hours for 11 weeks in person at our Austin, TX office location.

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

  • Motivated to work in a highly collaborative environment involving several developers in different fields

  • Familiarity / proficiency in C++

  • Experience with debugging and problem-solving

  • An eagerness to learn, grow, and one day become a leader in cinematic technology

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $39/hour

  • Pay Range End: $44/hour
