Hasbro’s Inventor Relations team is seeking a Manager, Inventor Relations & External Innovation to support our Toy business. This role sits at the front end of innovation — where bold ideas spark the future of play.
Upfront innovation is critical to the toy industry and fuels Hasbro’s growth. The best ideas don’t just come from inside our walls — they come from inventors, creators, and dreamers everywhere. Inventor Relations connects that outside creativity with Hasbro’s iconic brands, unlocking the next generation of toys.
As Manager, you’ll scout and champion fresh concepts, collaborate with inventors to refine their ideas, and partner with Hasbro teams to shape them into compelling opportunities. You’ll be both creative coach and business strategist, turning imagination into market-ready innovations that excite consumers and expand Hasbro’s leadership in play.

Effective from the date that Hasbro opens its new Boston location, this position will be onsite Tuesday – Thursday at Hasbro’s new HQ location in Boston, MA. In the interim, this position will be onsite Tuesday –Thursday at Hasbro’s HQ in Pawtucket, RI
A Day In The Life of the Manager, Inventor Relations:
- Scout and evaluate inventor-submitted concepts with a sharp eye for design, innovation, and consumer appeal.
- Collaborate with inventors to refine ideas into polished, pitch-ready concepts.
- Partner with brand, design, and development teams to spot opportunities and fill portfolio gaps.
- Track industry trends, play behaviors, and competitor activity to guide decisions.
- Present concepts with creative storytelling and a clear business case to excite stakeholders.
- Support legal and business teams in structuring fair, effective inventor agreements.
- Build and nurture a strong network of inventors and external partners.
What You'll Bring:
- 6+ years of experience in toy design, product development, inventor relations, or related innovation field.
- Strong design sensibility with the ability to assess both creative merit and commercial viability.
- Proven ability to translate creative ideas into compelling business opportunities.
- Experience working cross-functionally across design, brand, marketing, legal, and business.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, adaptable for both creative and business audiences.
- Familiarity with contract negotiations and deal structures a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Toy Design, Product Development, or related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $100,908.00 to $175,798.80. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
