Are you ready to dive into the dynamic world of toys, licensing, and entertainment? Look no further! The Global Toy & Game, Licensing, and Entertainment (TGLE) Finance Team is on the hunt for a Finance Manager to join our ranks.
As the Toy & Game (T&G) Strategic Initiatives Finance Manager, you’ll be at the heart of strategic financial decision-making for beloved brands like Transformers, Monopoly, NERF, Peppa Pig, and PlayDoh. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, a deep understanding of financial principles, and the ability to communicate sophisticated financial information across diverse audiences.
This is a highly collaborative position that will partner cross functionally and will provide regular support to the Product Design and Development teams, the New Business Development team, and be a key direct report of the T&G Finance Vice President. In this role you will lead special financial projects, evaluate new partnerships, and lead T&G specific consolidation and reporting efforts. Your insights will shape the future of Toy & Game segment. Effective from the date that Hasbro opens its new Boston location, this position will be onsite Tuesday – Thursday at Hasbro’s new HQ location in Boston, MA. In the interim, this position will be onsite Tuesday –Thursday at Hasbro’s HQ in Pawtucket, RI or at Hasbro’s temporary location in Boston, MA.
A day in the life of a Finance Manager:
Your day involves a blend of analytical rigor, collaboration, and insightful communication. The core activities revolve around financial analysis, which includes tasks like conducting profitability assessments, assessing budget performance, and building sophisticated financial models.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Synthesize Complex Information: Gather data from various sources and distill it into clear and concise executive-level presentations, reports, and briefing documents.
- Perform Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial assessments to inform critical business strategies. This includes analyzing profitability, optimizing costs, and evaluating new license agreements.
- Deliver Comprehensive Financial Reports: Build and present detailed financial reports to senior management and partners. These reports will highlight trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decision-making.
- Building and evaluating business cases: Create and compare business models for new strategic opportunities, whether this is for new licensed partners, new sourcing models, or individual new product development.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate on the formulation of long-range financial strategies, encompassing aspects such as product assortment planning, pricing, and costing. Partner with the business to build financial forecasts and establish targets. Monitor progress against financial, operational, and strategic KPIs.
- Budget Development and Forecasting: Collaborate closely with department heads to build annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Leverage historical data, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors to inform financial planning.
- Budget Monitoring and Deviation Analysis: Continuously track budget performance, identifying any deviations from the planned financial targets. When discrepancies occur, recommend and implement corrective actions to ensure alignment with goals.
Data Integrity and Operational Improvement:
- Maintain Data Accuracy and Integrity: Implement robust controls, perform regular reconciliations, and conduct audits to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data
- Technology and Automation: Find opportunities for improvement harnessing automation and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Dynamic experience in financial analysis, with a proven track record of performing sophisticated financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency with financial modeling, data analysis tools (Excel, financial software), and familiarity with ERP systems. Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
- Understanding that partnership with our Product Development team (largely based in Hong Kong) will require at least weekly calls outside of core business hours to accommodate time zones.

The base salary range for this position is $114,600.00 to $185,500.00. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
