Vice President, Global Brand Strategy & Management, POWER RANGERS

 

Position Summary:

The VP, Global Brand Strategy & Management, has full franchise and strategic ownership of Hasbro brand, POWER RANGERS. In this business-critical and high-profile leadership role, you will partner with multiple functions globally to set, align and drive the long-range global brand strategy and global content production and rollout plans for this property, leading an empowered team to maximise potential and efforts both within your group and across the business, globally.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Ownership of global brand strategy and vision for growth of Power Rangers across multiple audience segments for the full Hasbro Brand Blueprint – setting 3-5 year content and commercial priorities in partnership with content Development & Production, Consumer Products, Digital Gaming, Publishing, LBE, Partnerships & Promotions, PR, Entertainment Brand Marketing, YouTube & Social Media, Content Sales, Legal and Finance, securing alignment on vision and driving delivery of strategy with cross-functional partners, globally:

  • Lead and develop the Power Rangers Global Brand Strategy & Management Team to successfully activate brand and content strategies across the Blueprint, managing resources and processes to ensure optimal team performance and efficiency, fostering a culture of excellence in partnership and execution, data and insights-led planning and identifying & developing talent for lead roles on upcoming brands in the future
  • Drive global brand positioning to maximize commercial potential for the business, overseeing brand identity and tone of voice across all audience segments with a keen lens on regional needs and consumer/category insights – always focused on ensuring differentiation at retail and optimal lifecycle management for Power Rangers
  • Set brand direction and oversee content strategy (incl. film or series, digital, gaming, music and more) for Power Rangers with continual focus on the changing entertainment and competitive landscape
  • Oversee the relationship with the brand’s content Development & Production teams, to ensure all aspects of content (incl. characters, locations, themes, key elements, overall story/direction), will drive and deliver against business goals, always with a 3-5 year vision to ensure overall creative and commercial objectives are met
  • Accountable for ensuring storytelling fully delivers brand, toy and wider commercial goals, and for partnering closely with other relevant Hasbro division (Global Commercial & Innovation Organization and Wizards of the Coast) leads to understand and deliver against commercial needs
  • Key point of contact for regions/business units to align on needs and strategy, understanding commercial objectives and ensuring brand team executes against those needs – using sound brand and business judgement to balance the commercial needs of the organization with the creative integrity needed to drive longevity and manage expectations
  • Oversee the global rollout strategy of all Power Rangers content – anticipating market dynamics impacting the brand to continually plan ahead and drive success across the Blueprint, globally
  • Act as thought-leader and global market expert for Power Rangers, sharing and leveraging learnings to inspire and align brand strategies and activation plans across the Blueprint
  • Oversee brand tracking and industry & consumer research initiatives in partnership with global insights team and brand directors, ensuring awareness of global brand health and performance in context of the Hasbro Action Brands portfolio and relevant external competitors, anticipating and driving opportunities as well as solving challenges both short/long-term to maximize commercial potential of your brand, creatively and commercially in the long-term

 

Key Competencies/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Advertising or related field
  • MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' experience specifically in Brand Strategy/Development/Management within Entertainment is required, preferably on significant action-driven global franchise(s)
  • Experience leading both Adult/Fan and Kids-driven IP and entertainment is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing global IP, transforming strategy and vision into actionable plans that deliver on and exceed goals
  • Significant experience working with international teams, external agencies and 3rd party partners; able to demonstrate a global sensibility as well as flexible approach to cultural differences
  • Strong commercial acumen, comfortable interpreting and working with financial and performance data; ROI-driven; able to think big picture while remaining close to the detail
  • Inspires and recognizes strong creative; knows what will resonate with consumers and why; proficient in delivering actionable feedback that enhances development and execution
  • Communicates a vision and brings brand projects/initiatives to life; presents ideas and recommendations in a way that aligns others quickly to support
  • Demonstrated proficiency leading and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Skilled negotiator who’s able to work through complex issues and deliver solutions
  • Proven experience managing and motivating small teams of highly skilled brand executives to deliver against meaningful objectives
