About the team: 

Pulse Collectibles is a group within Hasbro, leading the way in offering adult fan collectibles (action figures + others) an elevated experience through innovation and product excellence. We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Creative Director (Collectibles Strategist) to lead the partnership with other teams across many of the best names within collectible figures (GI Joe, Transformers and many more) and be a dedicated leader as we elevate our product experience on our direct-to-consumer channel. 

 

 

About the job: 

As Creative Director (Collectibles Strategist) you will be instrumental in helping to lead and create the greatest, most compelling, commercially successful collectibles in the world. You will represent the creative and product needs of the Pulse team in partnership with various other creative teams, and partner closely with our design and development teams around the world. Your charter will be to help shape products (action figures + others) that will delight collectors and superfans while also delivering commercial success. Hasbro has amazing creative talent across our diverse action figure teams, and as the creative lead of the Pulse team you will be their primary creative partner as we pioneer new collectible strategies and programs custom built for Pulse and collectible fans. 

 

 

What You'll Do: 

Product Innovation: Help us push the boundaries of what's possible within the world of collectibles. You will lay out the vision of where we're taking the Pulse product experience and driving us forward every day.  

 

Drive Concrete Results: Deliver commercial success. Growing the business through products that are delightful and coveted to fans and operationally viable. Help turn ideas into business wins and fan favorites. 

 

Collaboration: Partner closely with the teams that design and develop our products. Navigate, inspire, negotiate, and empower others as we tackle new creative challenges and opportunities. 

 

Portfolio Development: Pulse has a great selection of collectibles, but you will help augment our new features and programs as we build and grow our collectibles portfolio. Our online platform gives us opportunities to do things not previously possible in the collectibles space, and you will help make those real, driving additive value to the business. 

 

Create Engaging Experiences: Understand the impact and complexity of delivering outstanding collectible experiences across multiple teams, brands, and product offerings by providing uniquely creative leadership perspectives. 

 

Scale and Standardize: Develop and standardize our creative ideation processes to properly scale throughout all phases of production. 

 

 

What You'll Bring: 

Collectibles Experience: 5+ years working in action figure -or- physical collectibles design/development or strategy. 

 

Proven Leadership & Pragmatic Self-Starter: Experience managing others successfully (directly & in a matrixed environment), and shouldering responsibility for large and complex projects. 

 

Blue-Sky Creativity combined with Delivery of Positive Business Results: A track record of driving true innovation and experimentation. We swing for the fences. Experience and expertise finding innovative solutions amidst constraints and business realities, while delivering on delighting fans and delivering positive business impact. 

 

Collaborative Mindset: Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and lead across multiple groups of creatives and business leaders. Forge and strengthen effective and powerful collaboration across matrixed teams. 

 

In depth knowledge: Finger on the pulse of current and future trends and methodologies relevant to collectibles and fan engagement. An excellent understanding of the building blocks of collectible creation and standards. 

 

Executive Presence: Ability to clearly communicate collectibles strategy, narrative, and overall vision to a wide range of audiences. Executive presence with outstanding communication skills with an ability to craft and communicate creative vision. 

 

Solutions Driven: Can help identify current or potential content creation problems and provide clear solutions. Establish a clear set of creative KPIs for each product/brand to measure success and efficient use of investment. 

 

Ability to Travel: Willingness to travel to meet with development partners and attend industry events (ex. Toy Fairs & 'Cons') when required. 

 

Compensation Range (USD):

Starting: $106,300

Ending: $203, 700
