To support Hasbro’s strategic agenda on Revenue Growth & Category Leadership, improvement in profitability, we must develop, build, and execute a demand planning capability roadmap that will transform our organization by embracing advanced process and technology capabilities to create a truly global connected enterprise and ecosystem that will enable proactive planning with predictive analytics.  

 

We need to drive much more effective data driven decision making in the organization, moving our team, from diagnostic to leveraging advanced scenario planning and predictive analytics capabilities, promoting a digital culture and ensure a robust data management strategy to sustain the health of the planning environment. 

 

The COE (Center of Excellence) will establish global best practice demand planning processes anchored in Integrated Business Planning principals, ensuring process design principles that drive standardization, simplification, and differentiation where it adds value, to deliver a truly state of the art design delivering on cost and service and enabling an industry leading demand planning environment. This will maximize sales and service levels, minimize inventory and obsolescence.

 

The Director, Demand Planning COE will be a key driver of evaluating and driving process improvements and efficiencies in global demand planning process, establishing capabilities for the total global function. This role will also provide brand & category oversight for demand shaping and be a key driver of Continuous improvement in demand planning process & capabilities.

A Day In The Life of a Director, Demand Planning COE:

  • Lead the center of expertise for Demand Planning and drive the strategic roadmap for transformation, adopting proven and emerging technologies, creating a digital planning operating environment for Hasbro’s success. Benchmarking externally to identify leading practices, including scanning the market for future capability such as AI models.
  • Lead Operational Excellence framework & drive performance improvement initiatives through & with the global planning community to continuously improve S&OE, S&OP activities, to identify areas of improvements (on process, people, tools and data & to advance codification and standardization on KPI’s; forecast error, bias, forecast value add, stability to achieve business targets on growth, profitability and working capital through advanced planning and analytics.
  • Development of demand planning tool capability, Logility solution, to analyze forecast performance with regard to established KPIs and metrics, and identify interventions and adjustments needed to improve forecast quality.
  • Develop Demand planning process best practises, examples such as:
    • Use of Segmentation analysis, ABC/XYZ, forecastability, selection & use of optimum forecasting models to create rolling 2-year baseline forecast for the portfolio with demand history free of data anomalies, promotions, shortages, and other events in both units and revenue, use of product lifecycle management, sales forecast enrichment, marketing forecast enrichment, promotional uplift processes & supporting that analytics that drive insight & decision in the DMR process, guiding on adjusting forecasting parameters within the Logility solution.
    • Provides leadership to statistical planners responsible for 4-24mth month statistical forecast inclusive of managing product lifecycle, history cleansing and cross-functional demand inputs.
    • Effective strategic reconciliation process with GPL.
    • Optimum analytics & insights frameworks to underpin Demand management processes partnering both BI teams &  Analytics, Insights, and Measurements team (AIM).
  • Support the monthly Global Demand Management Review (DMR), roll up from regional to drive unconstrained consensus forecast in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle and downstream supply planning and execution processes. Work in close relationship with the Global IBP Owner utilising S&OP tools to be able to bring guidelines / targets to the commercial demand planning function globally.
  • Chair Demand Planning Community of Practice and with Regional Demand leads, continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Demand Planning process and supporting technology solutions. 
  • Lead and Manage Team; Effectively develop and retain talent to meet current and future business needs.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required). Preferred fields include Supply Chain Operations/Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Management or related discipline.
  • 10- 15 years of experience in areas of Demand Planning, Logistics and/or SC Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Network Planning, and Business Management Science, 15 years’ experience.
  • Excellent understanding of the Toy/FMCG industry & In-Country Commercial & supply chain needs strongly preferred
  • The candidate will need to have strong functional knowledge across supply chain specifically in integrated business planning, demand planning, sales and operations execution, new product introduction, transition management, inventory policy/ management.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM and CSCP accreditations preferred.
  • Excellent Demand Planning analytical capability, deep knowledge of forecasting models & system to drive excellence.
  • Strong planning systems experience, policies, processes, and procedures to achieve world-class demand management
  • High level of attention to detail, able to analyze large quantities of data, identify issues and implications, and create a prioritized plan to address
  • Must have a proven track record of project delivery success that should include system implementation / integration, cost savings, process improvement
