Would you like to use your finance experience in a highly visible role to make a difference? We are looking for a Director of Accounting, Royalties to join our Corporate Finance team! In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Royalty Accounting team, assessing technical accounting impacts, identifying efficient accounting and business processes, and overseeing continuous improvement and system solutions for the Royalty accounting system and Royalty accounting team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Director of Accounting, Royalties is a highly visible role, supporting accounting, finance and business operations as part of a growing portion of the Company’s business. Success in this role requires being driven and innovative, with a strong work ethic and a leadership style characterized by a straightforward style, approachability, a team orientation, and collaboration!

 

This role can be based remotely in the US and requires the ability to work Eastern Time hours and approximately 25%-35% travel to our office in Rhode Island.

 

A day in the life of the Director of Accounting, Royalties:

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting of royalties globally across Hasbro.
  • Partner with business operations and finance business partners to ensure royalty accounting is aligned to business and operational needs.
  • Lead continuous improvement and modernization efforts across royalty system and business process to ensure an efficient system and business processes.
  • Provide overall support and analysis to executive management by investigating accounting questions, issues, and judgments and by partnering with team members from other business divisions to assist with accounting questions.
  • Act as a key liaison to the external auditors to assist in their completion of an efficient audit.
  • Lead the successful completion of royalty audits with third party customers and vendors.
  • Build relationships and regular communication with operational leaders to provide direct and timely assistance on matters that have accounting and reporting implications.
  • Complete ad hoc projects assigned by senior management, including analysis of business operations, proposed accounting treatment, or other accounting and finance-related matters.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Minimum 5 years public accounting experience and/or public company experience. Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, a Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet deadlines.
  • Reviews performance and progress on a regular basis to ensure the team is achieving results.
  • Demonstrated success in the development of staff and others toward improved skills, independence, and self-initiative.
  • Ability to earn trust and credibility within the organization, and capable of developing effective business relationships with all members of the company’s senior leadership team.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make sound business decisions.
