Atomic Arcade is a brand-new video game development studio located in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area led by industry veterans from AAA game and film studios. We are in the process of staffing up our development team with outstanding talent to build our first multi-platform, AAA game - a bold and contemporary new take on the GI JOE Universe starring the legendary character Snake Eyes! This is an excellent opportunity to not only build an outstanding AAA experience but to also help form the core foundations for the studio and team to build upon. We are seeking a Director of Marketing to own the marketing for our inaugural title. This self-starter should have a passion for and experience in video game marketing which includes product, brand, influencer, community, and awareness marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the product marketing of high-profile games on multiple platforms, including PC and console, and with diverse business models, with strong understanding of digital product development, production, and customer engagement systems. This role will also help us define and build the games marketing organization within Hasbro/Wizards for the future.

 

 

What you'll do:

  • Vision Setter. You will be the Marketing Business Owner and Internal Champion for your brand.
  • Be the leader for your product team. Form a close bond with Atomic Arcade Studios, ensuring marketing and product having a shared vision for creating and marketing the greatest action games in the world.
  • Partner and build positive relationships with key stakeholders across the Hasbro & Wizards organization.
  • Drive both short and long-term strategy and marketing goal setting for your games.
  • Creative: Work with internal Hasbro and Wizards teams and external agencies to create campaigns that emotionally connect with our core audiences.
  • Global View: Recognize that Gamers exists everywhere and work with global regional teams to ensure success in their respective markets.
  • Planning: Develop and deliver campaigns with responsibility for handling a multi-million-dollar budget.
  • Strategic Leader: Plan, Develop, and Implement your Marketing Strategy (Positioning, Audience Segmentation, Market Strategy, etc.).
  • Closely monitor and draw conclusions from both the industry and key performance indicators such as engagement, retention, monetization, awareness, positioning and market share.

 

 

What you’ll bring:

  • A Self-Starter who is passionate about making waves in the games industry and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic AAA development and publishing environment.
  • Experience leading marketing at a major game publisher or development studio for at least 2 successful cross platform, AAA console/pc games, including strategy, branding, go to market plans, and marketing playbooks.
  • Genuine passion for both games AND the business of games highly preferred.
  • Strong experience with social media platforms and networks as well as pre-existing relationships with top video game press outlets and influencers.
  • Experience developing creativity with internal teams or external agencies.
  • Integrated Marketing experience, including paid, owned, and organic channels.
  • Fluent in Excel with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments to anticipate and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Hasbro/Wizards IP’s (especially G.I. JOE), as well as other major action centric entertainment IP’s in the gaming space (Marvel, Star Wars, DC, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing highly preferred.

 

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $154,560
  • Pay Range End: $260,880
