Director Manufacturing Engineering Mon Jun 10 02:00:00 CDT 2019 Hong Kong, Hong 530903500 9509 Global Development 1 Employee <p>To diversify our manufacturing base geographically and achieve full-potential product cost savings, Hasbro increase our role and capabilities in driving manufacturing excellence, vendor development, and automation.  By re-building this capability in-house, Hasbro is looking for a Director Manufacturing Engineering who is able to more aggressively pursue a “develop anywhere, build anywhere” approach to our business. </p> <p>The right candidate will inherently know how to continually partner with Product Development Teams, Engineering Centers of Excellence, Program Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Quality Teams.  You will have hands on experience working in a factory in the Consumer Goods Industry and experience in toy manufacturing will be highly regarded.  You will also have proven experience in transferring manufacturing from one country to another. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Analyze processes to improve the productivity and profitability of manufacturing through initiation and implementation of projects that optimize costs, reduce waste, and improve productivity/quality.</li> <li>Identify opportunities to automate work flow and production processes.  Partner with key vendors and automation suppliers to deploy off-the-shelf and custom solutions.</li> <li>Recommend the best demonstrated practices for utilization of space, manufacturing methods, manpower, material and machine in production facilities.</li> <li>Develop, manage, and oversee key manufacturing technologies specific to Hasbro.  The technologies often have an Intellectual Property element that must be anticipated and protected. </li> <li>Lead DFM approach/mindset within Design & Development.  Cost must be designed out as part of the product development process.   Hasbro will need a strong understanding of the best manufacturing processes for our types of products to create incentive for our best vendors to invest in these capabilities. </li> <li>Partner with Global Sourcing to actively evaluate, on-board, and develop manufacturing capabilities to Hasbro standards for new vendors.</li> <li>Continually study and keep updated Industry best demonstrated practices on manufacturing processes, automation solutions and production and process work flow.</li> <li>Manage and lead the transition from the product development phase to the high-volume production phase at new vendors.  This is the critical phase to production start-up.  Expertly managing this transition phase is one of the most critical steps to diversifying the supply base. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Requirements: </u></strong></p> <ul> <li>A seasoned Executive with Engineering Degree or equivalent</li> <li>15+ years of related professional experience in fast moving consumer products, currently in a similar capacity</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in Product Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Project Management, and Operations for Consumer Goods</li> <li>Preferably demonstrated Manufacturing experiences in China and outside China factories (e.g India, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc.)</li> <li>Deep global experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors/developers.</li> <li>Experience with Lean principles, TPS, 6-Sigma or similar production optimization framework.</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while independently managing multiple projects, partners, and priorities. </li> <li>Ability to quickly assess situations, evaluate alternatives, make and communicate decisions, drive to resolution.   Strong blend of analytical decision making and creative problem solving</li> <li>Expert communicator, able to motivate multiple groups across multiple regions.  Strong command of English language.  Cantonese or Mandarin considered a plus.</li> <li>High degree of travel and flexibility required.</li> </ul>
