(Senior) Industrial Engineer

 

The Opportunity:

It is truly a unique and exciting time to join Hasbro. We are one year into our Supply Chain Transformation and are building our Industrial Engineering capabilities to further drive focus on productivity, value creation, and eliminating waste. The team of Industrial Engineers will have the opportunity to implement key fundamentals of Lean methodology and Design to Value to assess, audit and evaluate current processes to identify potential gaps and/or waste, and implement effective change to maximize value, reduce variation, etc. This will be achieved through close partnerships with internal teams such as brand/product marketing, product development, sourcing, and costing/finance as well as external suppliers. This role will serve as a key change agent to advocate, model, and promote a continuous improvement culture, through the leading and executing of key Operational Excellence projects. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding, training, contributing to Kaizen meetings, and partnering with various stakeholders to increase overall production efficiencies, and act as a subject matter expert in Lean processes and tools.

 

Responsibilities:

Collaborative Lean Practitioner

  • Lead strategic Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and quick hit projects from definition through execution. Coordinate cross-functional resources for these events and collaborate with external suppliers
  • Drive and implement labor efficiency through deployment of global industrial engineering process, tools and standards

Change Agent with Excellent Communication Skills

  • Work cross-functionally to develop and deliver training to all levels of organization as needed. Build the skills of all functional leaders and associates through hands-on interactions and personal mentoring in lean management tools.
  • Approach each project and your internal customers with the understanding that change requires trust and partnership. You communicate in a clear, respectful, and persuasive way to lead to buy-in and positive outcomes with your continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish appropriate metrics and report on progress, achievements, and results. This includes executive level reporting, management updates, and best practice sharing throughout the organization.

Analytical problem solver

  • Dive deep into the data and can use it to jump into problem solving mode quickly because you seek to understand first before suggesting a solution. You enjoy gathering data and information to prioritize issues and use your expertise to find the best business approach.
  • Develop and execute project plans using strong project management skills.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3-5+ years' experience (hiring for both Industrial Engineer & Senior Industrial Engineer Roles)
  • Experience in Lean focused organization with specific experience in planning and leading Kaizen events
  • Previous facilitator and coaching experiences where problem solving, process development and/or behavior change methods and tools have been used
  • Strong proficiency in Lean methodology, principles, and tools such as Value Stream Mapping & Kaizen
  • Plant Industrial Engineering & manufacturing operations experience preferred (ideally in consumer product goods, food/beverage)
  • Maintain strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across functional audiences with different backgrounds
  • Detailed knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) including Visio process mapping experience
  • Fluent in English is mandatory. Multi-lingual skills (Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese) are preferred.
  • Frequent and regular travel to supplier sites is required.
