Purpose of the role : 

  • We are looking for a creative and ambitious individual who has expertise in manufacturing processes, lean methodology and process/design optimization to drive functional excellence for the manufacturing engineering.

Key responsibilities : 

  • Provide crucial inputs and support execution of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design to Value(DtV) analysis for new product development.
  • Support vendors in Failure Mode and risk analysis to establish robust occurrence and detection controls in process.
  • Explore and implement process improvement measures from initial product design to production ramp up of new products.
  • Evaluate & support quality improvement, cycle time optimization and process automation through lean manufacturing and value engineering techniques for current production.
  • Vendors capability assessment & enhancement to identify the most suitable vendor based on product technical specification and requirements
  • Explore alternate and more efficient technology to drive process efficiency and reduce cost of manufacturing.
  • Compile lessons learnt & best practices and share with relevant stakeholders to ensure robust design/process for upcoming projects.
  • Support vendors in modernization of shop floor through industry 4.0 applications and machine learnings.

Years of experience :

  • 10 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with good exposure to shop floor and lean manufacturing techniques

Technical skills :

  • Degree/Diploma in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with experience in toy/consumer durable industry
  • Good exposure in Manufacturing and assembly processes, Process automation techniques with sensory mechatronics, material flow design, Line balancing techniques, defining control plans & run charts, etc.
  • Experience in Value Analysis and Value Engineering techniques to drive cost optimization projects.
  • Experience in Method Time Measurement (MTM) techniques
  • Experience in handling products with spray and tempo decorations, plastic blisters for retainable packaging, etc.
  • Designing and implementation of assembly Jigs/Fixtures/Line-tooling. Able to conduct basic GD&T and stack up analysis.
  • Proficient in production assembly line setup such as Sonic Welding, High Frequency Welding, Screwing, Heat Steaking, Riveting, Adhesive Dispensing, etc.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Minitab to conduct statistical analysis.
