Senior Manager, Global Franchise Strategy & Management (Preschool)

We are seeking a Senior Manager to develop and drive activation of the long-term franchise and content strategy for your brand(s) across the Hasbro Blueprint globally. The Senior Manager, Global Franchise Strategy & Management will have responsibility for a high-profile Preschool brand within the Hasbro portfolio. In this business-critical and high-profile leadership role, you will partner with the Director GFSM and multiple functions globally to set, align, and drive the activation of the long-range global brand strategy and global content production and roll out plans for your brand(s), continually driving creative success and commercial growth of the brand in the long-term. This role supports the Director GFSM to deliver Hasbro’s brand, content, and commercial goals, as well as brand awareness, affinity, engagement, momentum and advocacy.

 

Key Responsibilities
Key decision maker in the activation of the global franchise strategy for your brand(s) across the full blueprint – helping drive long-range brand and content priorities in partnership with the Director GFSM, Production, Toys & Games, Content Sales, Digital Gaming, YouTube & Social Media, Licensed Consumer Products, LBE, Promotions, Global and Regional Marketing, Legal and Finance, securing alignment on the strategy and driving delivery of the plan with cross-functional partners globally and locally:

  • Transform long-range portfolio vision set by the Portfolio VP, and the global brand and content strategy set by the Director GFSM, into an actionable plan and drive alignment and delivery of the plan across the Blueprint
  • Lead franchise messaging and storytelling for major presentations, ensuring alignment to global franchise and content strategies, communicating direction and priorities with clarity, consistency and impact. Partner and influence across the Blueprint globally to deliver franchise storytelling that drives advocacy and activation both internally and externally.
  • Deliver content creation (short form, long form, specials, cinema releases, digital, music, audio, etc) in line with the franchise direction set by the Director GFSM, with continual focus on changing content landscape – accountable for ensuring storytelling fully delivers brand, toy, consumer product and wider commercial goals.
  • Oversee the strategic planning and rollout globally of all brand content across formats and platforms to deliver against long-term brand objectives as well as broadcast and retail requirements – anticipating market dynamics impacting the brand to continually plan and drive success across the Blueprint globally. 
  • Oversee the relationship with the brand’s production team, overseeing all content development and wish lists, and providing direction on characters, locations, vehicles, themes, accessories, storytelling, scripts, series arcs, and so forth, to ensure overall creative x commercial objectives for your brand(s) are met
  • Drive global franchise positioning to maximise commercial potential for the business, overseeing definition of brand identity and tone of voice across all audience segments with a keen lens on regional needs and consumer / category insights – always focused on ensuring meaningful consumer position against competition, differentiation at retail, and optimal brand lifecycle management.
  • Key point of contact for Toy and Licensed Consumer Product to align on needs and activation, understanding commercial needs and executing against those needs – support and influence teams across the Blueprint to find the best way to activate the global strategy for their area so the business is aligned and following a clear, commercially-relevant and brand-led strategy
  • Key point of contact for our global insights team, overseeing brand tracking, industry and consumer research initiatives in partnership with Director GFSM.Always be commercially aware of global brand health and performance for your brand(s) and relevant competitors, anticipating and driving opportunities as well as solving challenges both short/long-term to maximise commercial potential.
  • Act as thought-leader and global market house expert on all brand aspects (content, platforms, rollout, architecture, purpose, consumers, competitors, challenges, opportunities, plans, performance, insights, etc.) sharing and leveraging insights to inspire and align activation plans across the Blueprint
  • Input into Franchise Strategy and Management budget-setting and track those budgets across key areas of responsibility.

 

Key Competencies/Experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • 6+ years’ experience in Brand Planning / Development / Management within Entertainment, preferably within Kids 
  • Demonstrated expertise in transforming strategy into actionable plans that deliver on and exceed goals; innovative thinker with an integrated approach to building global brands
  • Significant experience of working with international teams, agencies and 3rd party partners; able to demonstrate a global sensibility and gain followership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong business & commercial acumen, comfortable interpreting and working with financial and performance data; ROI-driven; able to think big picture while remaining close to the detail
  • Inspires and recognises strong creative; knows what will resonate with consumers and why; proficient in delivering actionable feedback that enhances execution 
  • Communicates a vision and brings brand projects/initiatives to life; presents ideas and recommendations in a way that aligns others quickly to support
  • Skilled project manager who’s able to work through complex issues and deliver solutions
