Summary

 

The Senior Director, Unscripted TV Business and Legal Affairs will require the ability to work independently while also being collaborative in a team environment. The successful candidate will have a passion for the unscripted television business and an ability to deal with various deadlines, across multiple jurisdictions and projects. The role will require attention to detail and the ability to apply a commercial, common-sense approach to the work at hand.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for assisting in the negotiation of deals for the development and production of unscripted, reality and documentary television projects
  • Work in a highly collaborative fashion with colleagues across departments including Creative, Production and Finance on a wide variety of business and legal matters
  • Render day-to-day production legal services in connection with multiple productions
  • Identify and advise on potential and actual legal risks related to the development and production of each project, including but not limited to providing guidance on guild, chain of title and intellectual property matters
  • Maintain, organize and localize contract templates
  • Provide regular status updates with respect to deals
  • Develop relationships with agents, lawyers, managers and other executives throughout entertainment industry

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must have a love for unscripted, reality and documentary television
  • JD from an accredited institution
  • Must be a member of the CA bar in good standing or eligible for CA RIHC status
  • 4+ years of relevant legal experience
  • Highly responsible, self-motivated, positive attitude and able to thrive in an energetic, fast pace, high growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn and ask questions

 

Compensation:

 

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the Recruiting range for this role:  $126,477.00 to 234,887.00 USD. Starting salaries will vary within the stated range based on various factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skill set, education, performance, market demands and budgetary considerations.  The range listed is just one component of Hasbro’s total compensation package for employees.
