Job Description

 

Invoke is looking for an Event Scripter to join our team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scripted events that enhance the player's journey in our games. You will work closely with designers, writers, and programmers to create dynamic scripted moments using Blueprints and Sequences in Unreal Engine.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Implement dynamic scripted sequences to enrich the player experience
  • Combine multiple game assets efficiently to create unique moments for the player
  • Work with level designers to ensure scripted sequences integrate naturally within gameplay
  • Work with narrative designers to create seamless storytelling moments
  • Debug, optimize, and refine scripted events for performance and seamless execution
  • Use Unreal Engine Blueprints (or other scripting tools) to build interactive sequences without requiring direct programming
  • Maintain documentation for scripted events
     

What you'll bring

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the video game industry in an Event scripting or related role
  • Experience scripting events in Blueprints (Unreal Engine)
  • Experience working with Sequences (Unreal Engine)
  • Strong understanding of open-world game design and non-linear event triggers
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (design, narrative, animation, Art, Audio, VFX)
  • Experience working with version control (Perforce)
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for open-world scripting challenges
  • Passion for storytelling, open-world immersion, and dynamic game events
  • Experience with any relevant external DCC tools (Photoshop, Maya, Blender, Houdini, etc.), a plus
  • Understanding of basic workflows and assets used by other relevant teams (Animation, Art, Audio, VFX)
  • Familiarity with cinematic scripting, camera sequencing, and dialogue systems
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English.
