A day in the life of an Associate Project Engineer:

  • Develop products that incorporate sensors, motors, complex mechanisms, embedded processors, audio, and similar.  Responsibilities include CAD design and review, building prototypes, editing audio, writing detailed specification documents, and hardware/software debug.
  • Work daily with offshore development and manufacturing partners.
  • Collaborate closely with partners in Design, Marketing, Project Management, Packaging and Structure, and QA.
  • Review costing/feasibility of projects and suggest alternative ideas to reduce costs and maintain schedules.
  • Lead engineering-related meetings (design reviews, product development meetings, final engineering pilot reviews, etc.).
  • Participate in team and individual brainstorms.

What you’ll bring:

  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.  Knowledge of plastics design and manufacturing a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in the toy and/or consumer goods industry preferred.
  • Experience with mechanisms and robotics, particularly Animatronics.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD design software required.  Familiarity with high-level programming languages (C, C++, Java, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Naturally meticulous and driven to tackle technical challenges with minimal direction.
  • Ability to communicate complex subjects in simple terms.
  • Unflappable demeanor in the face of challenges, setbacks, or changing specifications.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate competing demands and shifting priorities.
  • A sense of curiosity with an appetite for knowledge and new skills.
