The Staff Photographer will conceptualize and photograph products to be used in Packaging, eComm, social media, print and digital advertising. Provide direct creative support to Brand, Marketing and Product and Package Design on new line looks and complex advertising assignments. Execute Product and Lifestyle photography from conception to completion: including directing child and adult talent, advanced lighting techniques and final photo illustration.

 

A day in the life:

Execute set/diorama photography from conception to completion: including construction of environment, lighting, problem solving, prop collection, and final photo illustration.

  • Ability to balance artistic approach with practical business requirements.
  • Solid command of lighting concepts using constant source and strobe equipment.
  • Provide direct creative support to art directors, marketers, and designers on new line looks and complex assignments.
  • Research, test and execute visually captivating assets to inspire Brand teams. Including cinemagraphs, stop motion and other techniques, not limited to still photography.
  • Establish retouching/illustration techniques that visually enhance products.
  • Ensures a high level of technical quality and aesthetics for all photography created and distributed by the studio.
  • Works directly with designers, marketers and management to establish desirable lighting and set conditions.
  • Art directs, builds, and photographs products in a variety of environments (room sets, on-location, white cyc, tabletop, diorama) in order to demonstrate play pattern.
  • Advanced image editing skill-set using Photoshop. Establish retouching / illustration techniques that visually enhance products. (this is a repeat of bullet point #5)
  • Contributes to “kick off’” meetings, providing creative and technical options including

pre-production test shots.

  • Maintains a high quality image archive of all work done in the studio.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • 3-6 years work experience as a digital photographer in a studio environment, or equivalent.
  • Professional working knowledge of the Macintosh OSX and Windows operating system, Photoshop & Capture One
  • Professional working knowledge of strobe and tungsten lighting
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Office file formats, film separation, and printing process
  • Significant experience and success in leading a variety of projects
  • Advance aptitude in design, layout and composition as it applies to photography
  • Team interaction and collaboration skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Education: B.F.A in Photography or equivalent work experience in digital studio photography, or equivalent.
