The Hasbro Quality Assurance (QA) Team is seeking a Principal QA Engineer, to join the North America Regulatory Team. Reporting to the Director of QA & Regulatory Affairs, this critical role will be responsible for management of the Hasbro Quality Management System’s internal documentation, including development, review/approval, publishing of and training related to corporate product safety & policy standards for our products and processes.

 

This role will represent Hasbro at domestic and international committees and work groups meetings for the discussion, creation and/or revision of toy safety standards. In addition, this role is responsible for monitoring and analysis of regulatory proposals to assess potential impact on Hasbro’s products and/or processes as well as preparation and submission of assigned regulatory reports.

A Day In the Life: 

  • Develop and manage Hasbro internal standards to reflect and comply with global legal requirements, external regulations, industry standards, internal policies, and learnings from Hasbro and competitive products.
  • Review regulatory proposals and identify issues/risks that could impact Hasbro products or processes; develop recommendations for Leadership.
  • Communicate standards and provide interpretations to internal QA and Regulatory Team members and product development teams. Impart technical and regulatory training to internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct technical analysis & review of new or amended standards & regulations. Confer with 3rd party laboratories to ensure correct interpretation of regulatory requirements.
  • Represent Hasbro in technical workgroup meetings such as ASTM, ISO, and Toy Association (TA) to ensure Hasbro’s point of view is incorporated into newly developed standards
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by Federal and or state/local laws.
  • Manage retailer communications, CPC requests, and Company cover sheets
  • Execute QA strategy, and work on short-term explorations/projects

 

What You'll Bring: 

  • 10+ years of experience in the industry, with particular focus on the ASTM, EN, and ISO Standards and product safety (toy safety preferred); strong understanding of the toy or juvenile product industries.
  • Understanding of worldwide, local, state, and federal product safety standards. Understanding of ASTM, ISO, and CEN standard development processes.
  • Outstanding communication skills; working with regulators, consultants, labs, and industry workgroups. Good writing, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Minimum Education Level: BS Engineering or Technical or Equivalent
  • Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources to arrive at optimal solutions. Negotiate persuasively to create win/win solutions for all parties
