Reporting to the Director, Global Payroll, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing accurate, compliant, and timely payrolls across Latin America, with a primary focus on Mexico payroll operations (Mexico City and State of Mexico). This role requires deep expertise in Mexican payroll legislation, tax regulations, and statutory requirements, alongside strong analytical skills and technical proficiency in payroll/HR systems (ADP, SAP).

 

The position plays a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a seamless employee experience, while supporting Hasbro’s global payroll transformation initiatives. The specialist will drive process improvements and leverage technology to enhance payroll delivery across the region.

 

This role will manage payrolls across Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru using ADP Celergo and Workforce Manager, with Mexico representing the most complex and high-impact payroll environment. We are seeking a candidate with strong expertise in payroll, tax, and compliance, particularly within Mexico, and a passion for innovative, tech-driven payroll processes.

 

  

A day in the life of a Payroll Specialist:

At Hasbro, every day is an opportunity to excel. As a Payroll Specialist, you will:

  • Own and execute multi-country payrolls independently, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local and international regulations, covering both unionized and salaried employees.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of Mexican payroll legislation (e.g., ISR, IMSS, INFONAVIT, local taxes) to ensure accurate calculations, filings, and reporting aligned with union agreements, local labor laws, and applicable benefits.
  • Review employee master data, time and attendance, and variable pay inputs for correctness.
  • Reconcile payroll results, review general ledger postings, and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare detailed reports for Finance and HR, supporting audits and variance analysis.
  • Manage payroll inquiries through effective communication and resolution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HRIS, HR Operations, and Finance to maintain data accuracy.
  • Participate in payroll system testing, updates, and process documentation.
  • Support compliance activities, internal and external audits, and ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements across LATAM.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and compliance in LATAM payroll operations.

 

 

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required; additional languages a plus
  • 5+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of LATAM labor laws and payroll regulations, with advanced expertise in Mexico payroll legislation and statutory reporting.
  • Proven experience in payroll management and HR Administration
  • Experience with global payroll platforms such as ADP Celergo, ADP Workforce Manager, SAP, or similar systems.
  • Strong understanding of statutory filings, audits, and compliance requirements across LATAM.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong reporting knowledge.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.); strong Excel skills required with ability to produce clear, auditable data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Strong analytical thinking with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Established success in assessing, redesigning, and automating manual processes using RPA, bots, and other process-improvement technologies to achieve greater accuracy, speed, and scalability.
