Responsibilities:

  • Be a Technical Leader and foster technical direction to the overall engineering department.
  • Be a supportive voice in crafting the long-term technical roadmap for major engineering systems, tech debt, performance, and innovation.
  • Proactively identify issues and fix difficult problems as an individual contributor.
  • Help build out strong standard methodologies and performance metrics, while seeking continual improvement of the engineering organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of software development experience.
  • Authority Level web engineering experience, front-end and back-end.
  • Proven prior experience with Architecture/System Design.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure at scale and DevOps.
  • Passion for directly implementing code changes, partnering with teams to improve processes and make sure changes are implemented.
  • Experience working at all phases of development.
  • Experience working with long-range technical planning.
  • Experience mentoring team members as needed to increase their capabilities and efficiency.
  • Experience giving and receiving feedback.
  • Experience multi-tasking and adapting easily to change.
  • Passion for making and playing games.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, team-oriented; must have the ability to interact and collaborate across departments and teams.
  • Self-sufficient and self-motivated, can perform duties independently.
  • Experience practicing test-driven development and multiple layers of test automation.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools in support of production operations.
  • Experience with automation in support of tasks, data analysis, or external system integrations.
  • A passion for Magic: The Gathering and, perhaps, Dungeons and Dragons.
  • You enjoy leading your party into battle as a front-line fighter (but all new party members are welcome!)
