Atomic Arcade is a brand-new video game development studio located in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area led by industry veterans from AAA game and film studios. We are in the process of staffing up our development team with outstanding talent to build our first multi-platform, AAA game - a bold and contemporary new take on the GI JOE Universe starring the legendary character Snake Eyes!

What You'll Do:
We’re looking for an expert QA Manager for our development team. In this role you will be crafting, implementing and guiding the quality strategy for our studio and projects, partnering with other discipline leads, innovating and improving our quality processes to deliver an AAA experience for our players. You will leverage your passion for leading and mentoring experienced QA professionals in an exciting, fast-paced environment to build and lead a innovative AAA QA department.
- Build. lead, and mentor a team of QA analysts, providing guidance, training, and feedback that steers them to success.
- Develop and implement a QA strategy for staffing, execution and innovation to ensure our project and product meets our studios AAA standards and project goals.
- Leverage a variety of testing techniques across our product to effectively analyze the quality of our game.
- Identify improvement and innovation opportunities in existing quality approaches and provide recommendations of new ones where they are needed and impactful.
- Create acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for our teams and game.
- Define and use critical metrics and data to inform testing priorities and outline risks on a project level, providing clear escalation paths for multiple levels of ownership in QA.
- Work with other departments and teams to set and maintain quality bars and standards.
What You'll Bring:
- 8+ years of QA experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership/management level having worked through a full development cycle from concept to release.
- Shown capability in leading and developing teams of QA professionals directly embedded with the development team and externally located.
- Strong understanding of the importance of multiple testing strategies, including verification and validation testing, usability testing, security testing, performance testing, first party compliance, accessibility, ect.
- Excellent leadership skills, including mentorship, planning technical roadmaps, making trade-offs, and prioritization
- Ability to design solutions for development and QA when solutions do not exist within the space required
- Exposure/experience with Unreal Engine.
- Experience leading QA in a game development team working with cross functional teams composed of multiple development disciplines.
- Strong proficiency with JIRA.
- Deep understanding of risk, specifically how to identify, classify, report on, and handle it.
- Strong communication skills at the individual and team level and the ability to thrive while working in a fast paced working environment.
Compensation Range, Currency USD:
- Starting Pay Range: $93,600
- Pay Range End: $179,300
