About the Internship Program:

Over the course of 10 weeks, a select group of college and university students will join us, gaining valuable work experiences and insights into our most exciting products. Interns engage with Wizards’ beloved brands, gaining meaningful work-experience through day-to-day training, hands-on projects, executive exposure, individual development planning and mentorship.   • Our program runs between June 10 - August 16, 2024.

We are seeking a collaborative Intern - Localization Specialist to handle projects for products like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally assisting localization for multiple projects. Responsibilities include assembling project requirements, crafting, and leading pre-translation and localization activities.

 

What you'll do:

  • Assist Localization team with projects and duties

  • Prepare files to be translated in RWS WorldServer and deliver them to internal clients after translation is completed

  • Handle localization files and projects, driving timely delivery and high quality

  • Maintain translation memories and terminology databases

  • Monitor and support localization projects, and report on progress

  • Actively participate in meetings and discussions

  • Update on schedule and project issues and collaborate on product performance

 

What you'll bring:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited, degree-seeking program majoring in Localization, Foreign Language, Linguistics, Translation and Interpretation, Cultural Studies or related degree with at least one quarter or semester left after August 2024.

  • Available to work full-time hours for 10 weeks, remotely.

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

  • Knowledge of Translation and Localization processes and tools.

  • Ability to run projects throughout the entire lifecycle.

  • Experience with RWS WorldServer.

  • Knowledge of computer languages, scripting, and markup languages.

  • Creative solutions to project challenges.

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

  • Extraordinary ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

  • Interest in the game or entertainment industry.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of terminology management

  • Knowledge of a second language preferred

  • Magic: the Gathering player preferred

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation range for this role 109,000 to 202,000. The range listed is just one component of Wizards of the Coast’s total compensation package for employees. Employees may also be eligible for annual and long-term incentives.
