The Magic: The Gathering Play team is seeking a Partnership Manager to support and scale strategic partnerships that strengthen the Magic play ecosystem, with an emphasis on our competitive play.
Reporting to the Partnership Team Manager, the Partnership Manager will lead a portfolio of partners and programs that support play engagement, growth, and retention. This role works cross-functionally to ensure the partnerships are aligned with business objectives and are delivered effectively across global play initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
- Identify, build and lead strategic partnerships with organizations, creators and communities that expand reach and deepen engagement within the Magic: The Gathering player community.
- Lead ongoing partner relationships, serving as a primary point of contact to ensure alignment, clear communication, and successful program delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Play Programs, Brand Marketing, Events and Play Design) to integrate partner initiatives into broader business and play strategies.
- Design and implement partnership programs that drive player acquisition, retention, and ongoing engagement, particularly within Magic: The Gatherings competitive play structure.
- Track program performance against defined goals, providing regular updates and insights to internal partners.
- Serve as the main liaison for partners, ensuring clear communication, set shared expectations, and strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive play activity, and emerging opportunities to advise partnership strategy and identify new prospects.
What You'll Bring:
- Working knowledge of the gaming industry, with familiarity with Magic: The Gathering, trading cards games, or adjacent competitive gaming ecosystems.
- Deep understanding of Magic: The Gathering's competitive play systems and ecosystems.
- Experience leading external partnerships, vendors, or strategic relationships.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with broth internal and external collaborators and external partners.
- Shown ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently while growing in a collaborative team atmosphere.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting live events, competitive programs, or community-driven initiatives.
- Background working with influencers, content creators, or community organizations.
- Experience operating in a global or matrixed organization.

The base salary range for this position is $104,100.00 to $156,100.00. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
