The Principal Automation Platform Engineer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for building the enterprise automation platform for Hasbro and Wizards. This role is for an engineer who wants to design and build shared foundations that teams can depend on to automate critical workflows safely, consistently, and at scale. 

 

You will shape how automation is designed and implemented across the organization, creating platform capabilities that help teams move faster without losing reliability or control. 

 

What You'll Do: 

Automation Platform Engineering 

  • Design and build the core automation frameworks and orchestration engines used across the organization 

  • Build event-driven automation primitives and control layers that replace one-off scripts and duplicated tooling 

  • Deliver golden paths, scaffolding templates, and reference implementations that become the standard for how workflows get built 

 

Delivery Standards and CI/CD 

  • Define and maintain CI/CD workflow standards with embedded policy enforcement 

  • Build environment automation on top of platform foundations that teams can adopt without owning the underlying complexity 

  • Reduce variance in build and deployment patterns across product and enterprise teams 

 

Safe and Observable Automation 

  • Build identity, permissions, and environment separation into the automation platform from the start 

  • Ensure automation workflows are auditable, observable, and traceable 

  • Design for failure so problems are contained and recoverable 

 

Technical Standards and Architecture 

  • Lead technical decisions and architecture tradeoffs within the automation platform 

  • Contribute to the platform standards catalog and participate in architecture review 

  • Work across teams to move them toward supported patterns and away from bespoke tooling 

 

What You'll Bring: 

  • Experience designing automation or orchestration platforms used by multiple teams at enterprise scale 

  • Background building event-driven automation, CI/CD frameworks, and reusable delivery tooling 

  • Ability to define shared technical direction across teams, not just contribute within one 

  • Familiarity with what it takes to balance reliability, delivery velocity, and long-term maintainability in a shared platform 

  • Clear communication with senior engineers and technical leaders 

 

Core Requirements: 

  • 10 or more years in platform, infrastructure, or systems engineering 

  • Experience designing, building, or maintaining automation or orchestration platforms used by multiple teams 

  • Background in event-driven automation, workflow orchestration, and CI/CD standards at scale 

  • Solid understanding of reliable, observable distributed systems 

  • Comfortable working independently and building credibility through collaboration and technical contribution

The base salary range for this position is $172,638.00 to $258,957.00. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
