The Central Technology Team owns critical services that power some of Hasbro and Wizards most popular brands. Collaborate with partners and demonstrate extreme ownership in the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including ideation, rapid experimentation, customer research, and execution. As a Principal Engineer, you will bring a wealth of technical expertise and industry experience spanning software development and live services. The ideal candidate for this role has extensive live service experience, exposure to AWS, is self-driven, has acted as a mentor, a great communicator, and has the ability to bring clarity to complex problems.

 

What You'll Do:

 

As a Principal Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design and development of high-quality software solutions that meet business and customer needs.
  • Drive the adoption of AWS serverless technologies and ensure their successful implementation.
  • Coordinate closely with multi-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of live services, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Strong mentoring skills. Able to influence and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people
  • Understands customer behaviors and partners with cross-functional partners to influence and drive end-to-end solutions for customer problems.

 

Team Leadership

  • Prefers working in a team and collaborates with other cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with global teams across time zones
  • Communicate effectively with collaborators, sharing updates and insights on project progress.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your extensive knowledge and experience.

 

Community

  • Contributes to standards, patterns, and practices that improve the engineering community.
  • Provide perspective on leading industry trends, recommendations on new and emerging technologies, technology prototypes, patent proposals, and engineering process improvements.

 

What You'll Bring:

 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Ability to drive velocity in a highly matrixed environment, partnering with numerous customers.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software development.
  • Proven expertise in developing and scaling live services that scale for millions of customers.
  • Prior experience working with or on AAA game development teams.
  • Prior working experience in a cloud computing environment like AWS/GCP, serverless is a plus.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $161,800
  • Pay Range End: $242,600
