As a Senior BI Developer for Wizards of the Coast, you will be a technical analytics specialist for our scalable cloud data platform! You will work with a team of engineers to design and develop data pipelines, tools and infrastructure used by our games and products so that they can handle the volume, variety, and velocity of message types and traffic flowing through it.

 

You'll also be working on our digital product, Magic the Gathering: Arena, identifying patterns in player spend and engagement behavior to provide recommendations on how to improve the player experience and cement the product’s staying-power in the Wizard’s ecosystem.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Help design highly scalable, reliable, and performant pipelines to consume, integrate and analyze large volumes of complex data using a variety of outstanding proprietary and open-source platforms and tools.

  • Design, draft, and deliver automated reports based on specific business requirements, using data from app telemetry to analyze player engagement and purchase behavior.

  • Work with technical teams to evaluate data tracking solutions and offer recommendations to ensure the right data is being collected.

  • Work with Data Engineers on data requirements and perform data quality checks for newly ingested data sources.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years work experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or other relevant areas.

  • Proficiency in python and SQL.

  • Experience with data warehousing, data quality, and monitoring (Snowflake Preferred).

  • Experience building scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.

  • Experience working in a DevOps environment responding to a system with 24x7 uptime

  • Experience with data streaming management.

  • Experience with BI reporting tools, such as Tableau

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with KAFKA.
