The Magic: The Gathering Arena team is looking for a Software Engineer to provide technical expertise for our Content Engineering team. As a live game we ship new updates almost every week, and as part of our squad you will help build the systems that ship new cards, events, and more. In close collaboration with designers, artists, and other specialists, you’ll be crafting and supporting Magic experiences for our players.
What You'll Do:
- Design and implement solutions for Magic: The Gathering Arena in alignment with architectural designs and design needs.
- Work with your team to understand, develop, debug, and refactor our asset bundling and deployment system.
- Improve our client builds by measuring performance and reducing build times, disk usage, and redundancy.
- Maintain existing client infrastructure such as third party integrations and logging.
- Provide estimates of time and resources required to complete project goals.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in professional software development.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- High level of proficiency crafting and writing clean maintainable code in C#.
- Professional experience with Unity or comparable game engines.
- The ability to partner with game designers to understand their problems and provide solutions.
- Strong coding, debugging and problem-solving skills and the ability to write readable, maintainable code.
- Ability to work within project constraints and timelines.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with cloud service architectures.
- Professional experience working with a large existing codebase.
- One or more successfully shipped games.
Compensation Range, Currency USD:
- Starting Pay Range: $121,285
- Pay Range End: $157,200
