We are looking for a (Temporary) Senior Data Migration Engineer to support the next iteration of tabletop product development tools for Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and Duel Masters.

As a (Temporary) senior engineer in the Business Systems Engineering (BSE) team, your passion for problem-solving and deep experience in migrating and syncing complex data sets from legacy systems to new platform will be essential to the long term success of our business.

What You'll Do:

• Responsible for the data migration strategy and execution, which includes: data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL) and data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
• Participate in problem-solving sessions to understand the current state of our legacy systems, identify and detail risks and mitigations.
• Lead innovative solution-space brainstorming sessions.
• Produce prototypes to prove feasibility.
• Design, architect, develop, and run a data migration and sync service.
• Collaborate with other engineers to produce detailed documentation for software engineers, live operations, architects, network engineers, and system administrators.

What You'll Bring:

• Minimum of 5 years working as a data migration engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology; or comparable work experience.
• Extensive professional experience in designing, architecting, and developing data migration and syncing solutions for enterprises.
• Exhibit a high standard of craft that underscores accuracy, performance, stability, extensibility, supportability and security.
• Proficient in database design, relational databases, SQL, data mapping, modeling, validation, and CDC techniques.
• Proficient with JSON and XML.
• Proficient in consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Proficient in test automation and writing unit tests.
• Experience in AWS containerization, GitLab/GitHub CI/CD, or other CI/CD pipelines.
• Experienced with AWS Data Migration Services (DMS).
• Experience working in an Agile methodology framework of Scrum or Kanban.
• Outstanding communication and a standout colleague who effectively contributes to engineering discussions with technical and non-technical teams and individuals.
• Foundational knowledge of Magic: The Gathering game play and mechanics.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity of Product Lifecycle Management systems (PLM), Digital Asset Management systems (DAM), and Content Management Systems (CMS).
• Experience in Claris FileMaker Pro, Postgres, AWS RDS, NoSQL.
• Experience in Kubernetes or related technologies.
• Experience with Terraform or related technologies.
   

Temporary Assignment Details: 

Please note this role will be hired through a temporary agency for an 8-12 month initial temporary assignment, which can be extended to a maximum of 12 months.
