We are looking for a hardworking, inspirational, and experienced Sr. Director Software Engineering to join our leadership team in bringing delightful Magic companion experiences to life!
 

• Work with other high-talent, high-experience developers that share your passions

• Strategize with other leaders to build a collaborative development environment centered around delivering value to customers balanced with continuous improvement

• Lead the organization in architecting and implementing clients and services in support of large-scale, online platforms

What you'll do:

• Build a versatile and diverse engineering team that will tackle technical challenges dealing with online services, infrastructures, automated testing and serving customers with a digital hub for Magic players to gain access to functional utilities and seamlessly traverse the Magic Metaverse
• Be accountable for defining and achieving the goals and objectives associated with the various projects assigned to your teams.
• Create a customer focused culture valuing collaboration, innovation, ownership, transparency, and creativity. Be a manager of managers, growing and mentoring the next generation of leaders at Wizards by modeling and expecting excellence.
• Partner with leadership to form shared technological strategies in pursuit of our goals to grow and scale our businesses.
• Innovate on new and existing Tabletop Technology products and processes to better deliver enjoyable, accessible, engaging, narrative experiences for our existing and new players.
• Drive quality and extensible architecture and services that scale, are efficient to operate, and resilient enough for the challenges of live service operations.
• Rapidly experiment and iterate to actualize the product vision.
• Manage outside resources to flex bandwidth while maintaining a coherent code base.

What you’ll bring

• Experience building and leading engineering teams
• Considerable working knowledge and use of web and mobile application development, as well as web architecture, design, and related technologies
• Familiarity building software solutions with AWS technologies to build scalable distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of the modern web environment, including HTML, CSS, MySQL, JavaScript, React and Typescript
• A genuine enjoyment of working with others
• A motivated tech leader with a leadership style that succeeds through collaboration
• A desire to solve problems
• Strong communication skills and initiative to resolve conflict
• A passion for mentoring, guiding, and inspiring teams of engineers
• Willingness to help troubleshoot and resolve technical problems as they arise as well as a continuos improvement mindset
• Experience working with other engineering and product teams to integrate multiple technologies
• Extensive knowledge of interactive software production processes, timelines, tools, and methodologies, especially in a live product environment

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

• Starting Pay Range: $219,760
• Pay Range End: $372,840
