Do you like to build things and see your creations flourish? As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will help to shape the future of game development at Wizards of the Coast! You will work with multiple teams to onboard new projects into build and deployment systems in addition to providing support for existing projects. You will collaborate with Developers, QA, PM, and OPS to help build out future solutions that will increase efficiency while decreasing support cost. We’re waiting for you – come join the team!

 

What You'll Do:

  • Design and implement scalable solutions for Magic: The Gathering Arena in alignment with architectural designs and program needs.
  • Contribute at a high level to technical implementation and architecture of sophisticated projects related to the CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure and of a live service game.
  • Author and evolve technical designs and contribute to the technical leadership for the team.
  • Use your experience to grasp issues quickly and make critical judgments in the absence of complete information.
  • Be a recognized technical expert in your domain and have a breadth of knowledge in related fields.
  • Bring quality, efficiency, and effectiveness to a fun-loving, hardworking, and highly engaged team.
  • Mentor and guide team members to improve in quality, efficiency, and effectiveness, and work on a diverse team.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in professional software development.
  • Minimum 5 years of total relevant job experience.
  • Experience working with a team and developing positive relationships with your peers.
  • Coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to write readable, maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with software engineering methodologies, and the development of a live-service product.
  • Experience building/deploying/maintaining live services.
  • Experience with engineering at scale, and coordination of highly distributed systems.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Kubernetes, Docker, C#/C++, Python, .Net, AWS, Terraform, MongoDB, Ansible, Jenkins, Groovy.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $129,200
  • Pay Range End: $215,520
