Summer 2026- Automation Network Engineer Intern:
Automation creates value when it is reliable, repeatable, and easy to operate at scale. As automation becomes a foundational part of how teams deliver work, having strong platform capabilities underneath it is essential.
As an Automation Platform Engineer Intern, you will work alongside experienced platform engineers to support the development of shared automation capabilities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to how automation services, workflow execution, and platform guardrails are designed and implemented in real environments.
You will contribute to foundational automation initiatives while learning how shared platforms are built to support reliability, security, and scale.

What You'll Do:
Support Automation Foundations
- Assist in building and improving shared automation platform components that engineering teams use as the default for workflow execution
- Contribute to scripting, workflow configuration, or infrastructure-as-code efforts that strengthen consistency and repeatability
- Help document supported automation patterns and platform standards to improve clarity and adoption
Enable Safe and Controlled Execution
- Review and enhance automation that implements platform guardrails and execution standards
- Assist in improving insight into workflow behavior through logging, metrics, and monitoring improvements
Learn Platform Operations
- Participate in planning and design discussions to understand automation architecture decisions and tradeoffs
- Analyze workflow behavior, logs, and system metrics under guidance to support reliability improvements
- Contribute small, scoped enhancements that improve platform stability and usability over time
What You'll Bring:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, Go, or similar through coursework or projects
- Interest in automation, infrastructure, and platform engineering
- Exposure to cloud environments, workflow systems, or automation tools in academic or personal projects
- Strong analytical thinking and clear communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools or automation frameworks
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code concepts such as Terraform or similar tools
- Contributions to academic, personal, or open-source technical projects

Program Details
- Interview Timeline: February – April
- Summer Internship Program Dates (adjust accordingly for Co-op):
- Start: Early June (target June 8)
- End: Late August (target August 21)
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Compensation:
- Rates vary based on year in school, degree program, and office location
- Final rates communicated during offer process
- Location: This internship will take place in our Renton, WA office hub (West Coast HQ) and is a hybrid opportunity.
