Summer 2026- Platform Network Engineer Intern:

The network platform provides the foundation that allows services to connect and operate securely across the organization. As platforms scale, predictable connectivity, segmentation, and traffic management become critical to maintaining reliability and security.

As a Network Platform Engineering Intern, you will work alongside network platform engineers to support the development and improvement of shared network capabilities. This internship offers hands-on exposure to how connectivity, routing, and network controls are designed and implemented in modern cloud and hybrid environments.

Throughout the summer, you’ll contribute to work that matters while also being part of a broader global intern cohort, gaining exposure to professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and leadership engagement designed to support your growth and learning.

What You'll Do:

Support Network Platform Foundations

  • Assist in building and improving shared network platform capabilities used across environments, contributing to configuration, automation, and infrastructure-as-code efforts that strengthen connectivity and routing consistency
  • Help document supported network patterns and usage standards so teams can adopt network capabilities more effectively

Enable Secure and Predictable Connectivity

  • Support the implementation of segmentation, policy enforcement, and infrastructure safeguards that protect services and environments
  • Review and enhance automation that enforces network guardrails and improves operational consistency
  • Assist in improving insight into traffic flows and overall network health through logging and telemetry improvements

Learn Platform Operations

  • Participate in planning and design discussions to understand how network architecture decisions are made
  • Analyze logs, metrics, and traffic patterns under guidance to support troubleshooting and reliability improvements
  • Contribute small, scoped enhancements that improve network stability and usability over time

What You'll Bring:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, segmentation, and firewalls
  • Familiarity with cloud environments or networking concepts through coursework, labs, or projects
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools such as Python, Bash, or Terraform
  • Strong problem-solving ability and clear communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Experience with cloud networking concepts such as VPCs, load balancers, or security groups
  • Exposure to network monitoring, logging, or observability tools
  • Contributions to academic, personal, or open-source technical projects

Program Details

  • Interview Timeline: February – April
  • Summer Internship Program Dates (adjust accordingly for Co-op):
    • Start: Early June (target June 8)
    • End: Late August (target August 21)
  • Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Compensation:
    • Rates vary based on year in school, degree program, and office location
    • Final rates communicated during offer process
  • Location: This internship will take place in our Renton, WA (West Coast HQ) and is a hybrid opportunity.
