We are looking for an executive with a strategic approach and strong expertise in intellectual property (IP) licensing, partnerships, and business development. Reporting to the SVP of Digital Games, The VP of Licensing will be responsible for defining and driving licensing strategies, growing revenue, managing key partner relationships, and ensuring seamless integration of licensing initiatives within the broader company vision. This leader will play a critical role in expanding the company’s licensing footprint, balancing proactive deal-making with meticulous evaluation of inbound opportunities.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement the global licensing strategy for the company’s video game portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives.
  • Lead and manage a licensing team, setting clear goals, fostering professional development, and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate high-value licensing opportunities with third-party licensors, publishers, and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Publishing, Business Development, Marketing, Franchise, and Legal teams to integrate licensing initiatives into broader business strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging opportunities to inform licensing decision-making.
  • Drive revenue and profitability growth through licensing deals, partnerships, and co-branding initiatives.
  • Optimize licensing operations and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Lead Licensing to deliver meaningful YoY growth in operating profit.

What You'll Bring:

  • 15+ years of experience in licensing, business development, or strategic partnerships within the video game, entertainment, or interactive media industries.
  • Experience working with platform and distribution partners.
  • Track record of negotiating successful license deals.
  • Proven leadership experience managing licensing teams and high-value partnerships.
  • Expertise in IP licensing, contract negotiations, and deal structuring within gaming or related industries.
  • Strong network within the gaming, entertainment, and licensing sectors.
  • Deep understanding of video game publishing, development, and franchise management.
  • Exceptional financial acumen with a history of driving revenue growth through licensing strategies.
  • Ability to balance proactive business development with rigorous evaluation of inbound opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Experience working with major IP holders, AAA game studios, or global entertainment brands

Nice to Have:

  • Strong knowledge of digital distribution models, free-to-play ecosystems, and live-service games.
  • Background in cross-media licensing (e.g., films, TV, comics, merchandise).

 

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:
Starting Pay Range: $206,000
Pay Range End: $ 310,453.2
