WHAT IS THIS ROLE ALL ABOUT?

  • Recommend and drive a vision and strategy for Wizards of the Coast China business in line with Global Hasbro guidelines and the Code of Conduct
  • You will be responsible for targeting new opportunities within your territory. You will be a highly self-motivated sales professional with a proven track record for selling in the business-to-business arena. You’ll have the tenacity, drive, commercial awareness and persuasiveness to find the right contact, understand the client’s issues, and match and apply the benefits in your solution.
  • You will often need to involve several stakeholders, both internally and externally, in different locations across the world so strong networking and organization skills as well as an understanding of corporate purchasing dynamics are a must. 
  • Explore and initiate business opportunities for Wizards of the Coast looking ways to unlock further sustainable growth initiatives.
  • Deliver agreed budgets on quarterly and annual basis, driving accelerated growth and delivery of agreed financial targets.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities For This Wizard

 

Strategic Planning & Vision Setting:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for Hasbro’s presence within the Wizards of the Coast China business.
  • Ensure alignment with Global Hasbro guidelines and adherence to the company’s Code of Conduct.

Account Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key distributors and clients in the region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners to drive business growth.
  • Provide regular updates to distributors on product launches, marketing initiatives, and promotional opportunities.

Sales & Business Development:

  • Identify and target new business opportunities and sales channels to expand Wizards of the Coast’s market share in China.
  • Drive sales initiatives, proactively engaging with distributors and retailers to achieve revenue goals.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activity, and consumer preferences, and leverage insights to make informed decisions.


Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, logistics, product, and operations) and global stakeholders to align strategies and ensure smooth execution of plans.
  • Coordinate with regional and global counterparts to address local market needs and business challenges.
  • Manage and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner, working across teams to provide solutions.

Financial Management:

  • Develop, monitor, and manage budgets, ensuring financial targets are met quarterly and annually.
  • Provide regular financial reports to senior leadership, tracking sales performance, cost-efficiency, and ROI of initiatives.
  • Work closely with finance and operations teams to optimize supply chain processes, product allocation, and pricing strategies.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Oversee the operational aspects of the business, ensuring efficient and effective execution of daily tasks related to account management and distributor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, internal policies, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Drive improvements in operational processes and procedures to streamline workflow and enhance productivity.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track and report on performance metrics for key accounts, ensuring alignment with quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Lead performance reviews with distributors, providing guidance and recommendations for growth opportunities.
  • Analyze sales data and market feedback to continuously refine business strategies and improve account performance.

Training & Development:

  • Act as a mentor for junior team members and distributors, providing training on product knowledge, market trends, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast product offerings, ensuring knowledge is shared with key stakeholders.

 

AM I QUALIFIED? (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

 

Experience Creating and Casting these Spells:

  • Strong ecommerce background with 5+ years experience in working with a trade partner and marketplaces (TMALL/JD) PIC
  • Experience working in major ecommerce platform (e.g: Alibaba, JD) or trade partner
  • Experience in the Entertainment and/or Games industry is a plus

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Characteristics of the Ideal Wizard:


Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, business development, or sales, preferably in entertainment, or gaming industries.
  • Proven track record of managing key accounts and driving sales growth in a B2B environment by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, driving market penetration, and increasing market share.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and handling complex, multi-stakeholder projects

 

Knowledge:

Business Development and Market Expansion:

  • Deep knowledge of business development strategies, including market research, lead generation, and sales pipeline management specific to China’s gaming and entertainment markets.

 

Financial Management & Budgeting:

  • Experience: Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking, managing sales targets and ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Knowledge: Ability to manage P&L, analyze financial statements, and optimize sales and marketing spend to ensure financial growth and sustainability.


Regulatory and Compliance Understanding:

  • Experience: Familiarity with the legal landscape and regulatory requirements governing the gaming industry in China and the broader APAC region.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of local business regulations, import/export laws, and licensing practices relevant to Wizards of the Coast’s products and operations.

 

Skills:

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Ability to analyze market data and consumer insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

 

Language: Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in English is preferred.

 

Education and Training:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
