Sr Manufacturing & Tooling Engineer

Role Description


As the Senior Manufacturing and Tooling Engineer, you will be joining our rapidly growing Mexico team in leading development and vendors through manufacturing and tooling, while validating product designs, optimizing manufacturing and embracing the latest tooling technologies to deliver target product performance and cost.


As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide direction and support for product design interpretations between Hasbro Product Development teams and strategic Vendors across Americas/ Europe; identifying and aligning on manufacturing methodologies and materials across functions such as design, engineering, costing and sourcing, with oversight of the product design through prototyping into production.


As a Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible to support the design, development and debugging of tooling, molds and die for Hasbro products manufactured at local vendors, while working with our global partners to ensure best practices and standardized processes.


Key emphasis will be on your ability to understand complex assemblies and components, and to translate these into tools and processes that enable vendors to complete production on time, on budget and to quality.



  • Working closely with the US Product Development Team, the Mexico Sourcing/Operations (Planning/ Supply Chain) Team and the Vendor, to ensure product delivery in a timely manner within quality, cost and contractual expectations.
  • Responsible to evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes and technology to meet product design, development, cost and quality requirements.
  • Identify and support production challenges, facilitate resolutions, escalate issues to ensure the teams and vendors are efficient/productive on a day-to-day basis.
  • Align and adhere to Hasbro Global Product Spec communication and control requirements within acceptable standards for toy and games product manufacturing and materials selection.
  • Seek alternative (innovative) materials or modification of parts to mitigate local or regional source or production constraints.
  • Establish metrics and carry out on-site assessment on vendor’s capability to lay out the necessary production line, optimize tools, and maximize skilled labor.
  • Provide direct coaching/advice or introducing SME on upskilling vendor’s production capability.
  • Ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis and full understanding of GD&T
  • Ensure feedback loop of manufacturing materials and methodologies solutions to design site for continual DFMA
  • Collaborates with teams to identify opportunities for process improvement to drive speed to market and customer satisfaction.
  • Understand & leverage system resources to drive quality data driven decision making and risk identification.
  • Experience in tooling design and fabrication
  • Ability to model 3D master prototype/mold surfaces for tooling. Using CAD files to analyze existing tooling designs and improve on them.
  • Manage outside vendors with on time and on budget delivery of tooling components when required, negotiating to secure the best deals.
  • Develop innovative solutions for component fabrication and assembly using proven techniques & methodologies
  • Review and critique 2D drawings and develop and manage tooling specifications
  • Traveling to manufacturing plants and factories to gather information and liaise with manufacturing and design teams.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the Engineering field by expanding networks and attending events.



  • 7 plus years in plastic Mold Tooling, Processing and Manufacturing
  • Higher Certificate/Diploma/Degree in engineering (preferably manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or equivalent).
  • Strong written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • Lean/ Six Sigma knowledge a plus.
  • Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing knowledge a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Excel, Teams, Project. Adobe Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator. 3D CAD.
  • PLM/ ERP software familiarity a plus.
  • Mold flow analysis experience
  • Control system design and implementation
