Do you have experience in market research and a passion for gaming? We’re looking for a Sr. Manager of Consumer Insights & Analytics to join our growing team! This Senior Manager will bring strong analytics skills and consumer research experience from extensive time in the digital games industry. They will lead a team and be an embedded partner and thought-leader to business and creative partners across our Operations, Studio, Licensing, and Marketing teams, influencing data-driven decisions informing their strategy, product development, and go-to-market planning.

The ideal person for this role is courageous about sharing consumer and marketplace truths with partner teams to influence decisions, striving for continuous improvement in output and impact.

 

This position can be based remotely on the West Coast.

 

A day in the life of a Sr. Manager Consumer Insights & Analytics:

  • Build strong relationships with heads of Operations, Product Development, Licensing, and Creative to further adoption of AIM’s analytics & insights roadmap tied to digital games planning and development gates.
  • Inform long-range plans and growth strategies for senior management by surfacing relevant trends and consumer insights with implications for the Wizards gaming business and pipeline.
  • Supervise development of market intelligence deliverables to drive strategies and planning, including opportunity sizing, white space analysis, and competitive teardowns.
  • Oversee the design, execution, and delivery of research studies, such as consumer segmentation, product usage, brand strategy and positioning, and iterative concept testing.
  • Standardize proprietary and secondary data formats, finding opportunities for automation or dashboards that enable self-service access among business partner teams.
  • Adeptly prioritize business questions and needs for the Digital Games vertical at Wizards, balancing fast-turn ad hoc requests with priorities established in your annual insights agenda for first-party and live service games.
  • Model standards for quality and actionability in analysis and results, managing a small team who lead market intelligence and research deliverables.
  • Leverage and help grow AIM’s eco-system of insights vendors, tools, and data sources that allow the team to gracefully scale skills and capacity to meet business partner needs.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and experimentation fed by fact-based consumer insights data that represent the voice of the player.

What you'll bring:

  • 7-10 years in Consumer Insights, Market Research, or Competitive Intelligence in digital gaming, hobby games, or a related entertainment field.
  • Experience working for a large digital games publisher preferred.
  • Strong background with both data analytics and primary research.
  • Strong problem definition and solution skills, intellectual curiosity, and love of learning, with an avid pursuit of innovation.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Experience with SQL preferred.
  • Knowledge of Tableau and PowerBI a plus.
  • Significant experience analyzing and synthesizing data across industry, game, consumer, and omni-channel insights, finding the story behind the numbers to deliver actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in an efficient and compelling way, with the gravitas to influence senior decision-makers.
  • Strong practical understanding of how gamers, games, and entertainment products and services interact at various points of the consumer lifecycle and monetization structures across games.
  • Knowledge of Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons a plus.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation range for this role $106,300 - $197,470. The range listed is just one component of Wizards of the Coast’s total compensation package for employees. Employees may also be eligible for annual and long-term incentives.
