As a Contract/Temporary UX researcher, you will work with cross-functional teams in the US and Poland to identify, design, and conduct user studies. The studies will generate product insights that will help guide the vision and strategy for the future of digital D&D. You will support a growing design team working on developing the best possible digital player experience. The duration of this contract is 6 months, with the potential to extend to 12 months.

 

The ideal candidate has expertise in eCommerce and digital gaming and is passionate about building digital experiences. You use the latest methodologies in usability testing and generative and summative research. You are comfortable crafting and conducting your own studies, analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, and generating easily digestible, actionable insights. You will set and drive research goals while actively seeking input from key partners and incorporating feedback from players to discover and address unmet needs.

 

Strong remote work experience and communication skills are a must, as you will be providing updates to team members and leadership regularly. A solid understanding of and appreciation for D&D is a strong plus.

We are prioritizing candidates in the Seattle metropolitan area who are comfortable with a hybrid work environment, though we are flexible for the right person.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Advocate for the player.
  • Ingest existing player and product insights to craft effective research studies.
  • Deliver executive summaries and in-depth research reports for presentation to team members and partners.
  • Actively support the design team in developing intuitive controls, content, and UX flows.
  • Use and improve upon existing data-driven research, A/B experiments, and insights to continuously improve design choices and conversion strategies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, customer feedback, and usability methodologies to inform design decisions.

What You'll Bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in human-computer interaction, human-centered design, UX design, UX research, information science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in UX research.
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating your research process and expertise in data methods.
  • Proven experience in desktop, web, and mobile applications on a variety of platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to articulate and defend your findings.
  • Ability to influence research and design process at all levels of the company.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience conducting research for the gaming industry, both digital and tabletop.
  • A background in accessible design standards.
  • Experience working with global teams.
