The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing our main distribution channels and leading the growth of Magic: The Gathering® in Japan.



  • Growth Magic brand and revenue in Japan TCG industry
  • Work with distributors to develop plans for Corehobby, supporting distributors’ pitch to expand Magic in TCG industry by developing Wizards’ business proposal
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Trade Marketing to develop channel growth initiatives
  • Develop sales strategies for existing channels to grow Wizards’ brands and profitability
  • Manage portfolio strategies to ensure correct ranging in channels
  • Coach distributors’ and channel partners’ sales teams on Wizards product offerings
  • Provide regular updates to Management on market development status during regional meetings
  • Collaborate with teams across the region and headquarter providing initiatives and insights to drive optimal business outcome.



  • 4+ years experience in channel sales for consumer categories with preferred focus on TCG/ toy/ gaming/ entertainment. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-driven and proactive in nature
  • Sales metrics acumen. 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college required with fluency in Japanese.
  • Ability to juggle and manage multiple priorities under tight project deadlines required.
  • Above conversational level in English langauge (reading, writing, speaking). 


Highly Desired:

  • Hobby channel gaming experience.  Paper based or digital
  • P&L management understanding (financial/business acumen)
  • Familiarity with Wizards products a huge plus – particularly Magic: the Gathering.


Travel Requirements (% of time per year)   

  • 25% to 30% travel.  Regional markets and Wizard HQ in Seattle, WA
