EMEA HR Generalist/Manager (based in the UK)
Location: This role is based in our Stockley Park, Uxbridge, West London, UK Office. You must already be a resident in the UK and within commutable distance of West London.
Working Pattern Requirement: In-office Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday with flexible Mondays and Fridays.
Please note: This role is at EMEA HR Manager level, although our internal title is Generalist. If you feel strongly about titles, then this may not be a suitable opportunity for you.
Role Purpose -
Every day in HR gives you two choices: see problems or see possibilities! We are looking for a skilled HR professional, with EMEA HR knowledge who sees the possibilities and chooses to act on them.
As an HR Generalist in EMEA, you support HR Enablement by executing initiatives, handling daily HR tasks, and fostering a positive employee experience that reflects our culture. You work closely with business leaders across Europe to shape people strategies and collaborate with our US HR team to align global priorities.
What you'll do:
- Partner with business leaders to understand operational goals and provide proactive HR solutions that drive business performance and employee engagement.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to managers on HR policies and processes, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to become more effective leaders who can cultivate a positive and compliant workplace culture.
- Facilitate key HR activities such as workforce management, change management, talent management, engagement, learning and development, career coaching, mentoring, employee relations, and performance management.
- Liaise closely with the US HR team and global Centres of Excellence (COEs) to ensure consistency and alignment of HR initiatives across regions.
- Collaborate with the global enablement team, HRBPs, and COEs to improve employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Align with the regional enablement team to ensure that local execution of tasks supports overarching HR and company priorities.
- Offer HR support to employees, serving as a key operational contact for HR-related queries and issues.
- Act as an advocate for employee concerns, providing the leadership team with insights on employee sentiment, workplace culture, and morale.
- Maintain compliance with European employment legislations and support adherence to HR practices across multiple European countries.
- Support the execution and management of HR policies and practices within the country, adhering to the strategic direction set by regional HR leadership.
- Work closely with the company’s shared services centre to deliver efficient HR services to employees.
- Support organizational change at the country and regional level, facilitating smooth transitions during periods of transformation.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues, conducting detailed investigations when necessary.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience –
- Global company experience, understanding the nuances of a matrix organisation.
- European human resources, with a strong operational background, including employee relations across multiple markets.
- Working within global or multi-regional environments, ideally with exposure to HR operations across Europe.
- Managing Social Planning , Trade Unions and Works Councils across EMEA markets.
- Successful implementation of HR initiatives and programs that have a direct impact on business performance.
- Ability to liaise and collaborate effectively with US-based or global HR teams.
- HR operations, systems, and industry-standard processes across EMEA markets.
- European travel across select markets, including Germany
Education and Skills -
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in engaging effectively across all levels of the organization.
- High levels of resilience and operational execution, coupled with a people-centric approach.
- Capable of balancing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Thrives on taking ownership of tasks and looking for solutions to problems.
- Works collaboratively, ensuring all parties are informed of updates and impactful decisions.
- Uses and supports AI in HR to streamline communications and operations, enabling data-driven decision making and improving compliance.
Bonus skills:
- European Languages would be a bonus, but are not essential. Ideally German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and/or French.
