The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Marketing Manager to actively participate as a member of the Retail Experience Team. The Mass Sales team has the goal to bring the Wizards of the Coasts’ brands to life within the sales channel across Europe, fully supporting the core objectives of channel expansion, user acquisition and player accessibility.
The purpose of this role is to drive strong omni-channel visibility for Wizards brands within the retail and e-tail environment.
- Partner effectively with Retail Partners to develop strong plans for visibility in-store, online and across customer outreach channels.
- Support the recommended sales strategy for Wizards in Retail with yearly merchandising development plans.
- Create and implement required displays and merchandising solutions in key retail partners across key markets (FR/DE/UK/IT/SP).
The Retail Development Manager, under the direction of the Sales Director, will work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to take the overall brand direction around Premier Set releases and ancillary releases, to execute market-leading channel activations to support the overall sales goals.
Responsibilities:
- Partner management with key retailers and wholesale partners in key European territories)
- Develop and execute strong online and offline brand presence with each of the retailers.
- Refresh merchandising in existing retailers.
- Develop strong brand presence in newly acquired retail partners.
- Build annual Retail Marketing plans, supporting appropriate releases with each of the partners, collaborating and aligning with our European Brand team and North American Studio/Marketing team.
- Ability to analyse metrics and insights to improve future executions/campaigns.
- Drive demo/assisted selling programmes and staff education in direct retail partners.
- Manage account online listings (non-Amazon) for all ranged Wizards products and execute continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Cross-functional mindset to share creative output across other developing channels within the business where needed.
Key Skills:
- Strong Retail Marketing experience.
- Ideally a background in Gaming/Video Games/Entertainment
- Solid Communication and negotiation skills.
- Cross-Functional Collaborator.
- Go to market experience, especially in Mass retail.
- A track record of marketing excellence and building partnerships, with experience working in/with national retail and/or gaming retailers.
- Strong creative judgement and eye for detail
- Project Management: Outstanding execution, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for gaming/entertainment media
- Team player
Qualifications:
- BA or BS Degree (In lieu of degree, 5 years of relevant work experience).
- Ideally a background in Gaming/Video Games/Entertainment.
- Fluent in English is essential and French or Danish would be an advantage.
